Fast Indexing Software…

August 30th, 2010

Link building can often become quite a long and laborious process for some of us that may not be so advanced as others with SEO. However, this is not the only thing that needs to be done in order to increase your position on the search engines. Once you have built your links you then need to make them actually start to work for you. This is where indexing comes in. If your links are not indexed, then they are practically worthless to you. There are two good ways to get your links indexed quickly. The first is Meta Indexing and by doing this to all of your links, you can gain hundreds, if not thousands of link backs to your main site/profile etc. The other way is to ping to all of the top RPC ping sites which will inform the search engines such as Google and Yahoo that you have new content out there to be crawled over. You need a proper link strategy in order to do this properly and this can take a long time when done manually. This is why the latest craze of indexing software has come to light. This software claims to be able to speed up this process incredibly, getting your URL’s indexed in under 2 hours for you!

The only reported downside to this software is that it may not be extremely user friendly for anyone other than the experienced internet marketers. However, there are many different kinds of this software available, all doing almost the same job. Therefore, it is simply a matter of discovering the method that works best for you and sticking with it until you have perfected the technique required. This software can be found on many forums such as the Warrior Forum etc. and a lot of these you will find offering free trials too!

Link Wheels

August 23rd, 2010

Anyone that knows anything about search engine optimisation understands that link wheels are a big part of this and can have a large impact on your website and any future business that you could possibly do. When first explained to a person, link wheels can sound very confusing and seem too overwhelming to understand. When a person does not fully understand something, there is little chance that they will ever actually do it/get it done. However, when explained in the correct manner and in a way that anyone can understand, you will soon realise that link wheels are relatively easy to learn about and therefore, relatively easy to accomplish yourself for your own website. Link wheels really can change the way in which clients are attracted to your business. You literally will have links all over the web pointing directly to your website, generating more real traffic and therefore, in the long term, making more of those sales!

As well as providing links and therefore new clients, the link wheels are also a great way to boost your rankings on the search engines like Google. As part of a link wheel package, if you decide to hire someone to do this job for you, is article writing. If you are uploading regular unique content to your website everyday with your keywords of choice, the search engines will soon pick up on this and begin to notice and “like” your site a lot more. Another major aspect of the link wheels are the video creation and submissions that are regularly part of the package price. A short video will be created based around your website and its products and then submitted to certain directories in order to build up your links. When all of these links are live online, you will soon start to see the benefit of link wheels, even if you have been sceptical up until now!

Brick Relish – Keyword Modifiers Part 2

August 18th, 2010

Following on from part 1, we will now take our three main keyphrases, and generate a big list of modifiers.

  • Hosted autoresponder
  • Server side autoresponder
  • Autoresponder software

To get a large list of words that are similar, you can use Google Adwords Keyword Tool, a Thesaurus or better still, a little tool that deserves some kudos.

http://soovle.com is a great little tool for generating suggested keywords

The key to unlocking the keyword research puzzle is modifying keywords

based on one original keyword. You type in a keyword, and automagically, you get a load of suggestions live from search engines like Google and Ask. Here, we will type in “hosted” and “hosted autoresponder”, to try and generate suggestions. Get these all written down on Excel if possible, as that will help later. Have each modifier and keyword in a separate column. So ‘hosted’ would be in column 1, ‘autoresponder’ column 2 etc. Don’t forget to find modifiers for your main keyword. Autoresponder’s actually go by the name of ‘email responder’ etc. So we can add that to the list. Check this keyword in Soovle too. You would find modifiers like “system”, and “automatic” for “email responder” for example. Add any other keywords that your product or service are known by. You should be able to generate a fairly large list.

Now, you should have around three or four columns to work from. You will now check you’ve covered all your bases by using a keyword modifier tool called  Keyword Lizard. Enter your columns of keywords & modifiers, and check the appropriate boxes if you need to. For example, if this exercise is for your Adwords campaign, use Step 4 & 5 of the tool. Otherwise, simply let it do its stuff, and modify the whole list.

From this quick exercise, you will generate hundreds of keywords. Different permutations will give better/worse monthly searches – but they are all worthy of being included if they get ‘some’ searches… remember, sometimes it’s better to have 10 keywords getting 100 searches per month, than trying to rank for a keyword that has 1000 searches… but heavy competition.

SEO Page and Site Optimization with WordPress – Part Three

February 3rd, 2010

Well I owe this post to those who have been following my SEO and WordPress site optimization. As stated in SEO Page Level Optimization I do not use the All-In-One SEO Pack anymore. I use the plugin called Platinum SEO Pack. It offers everything that the All-In-One does but it has even more. The neat thing about it is if you’ve already got your All-In-One configured, when installing this you will have an option to import all the All-In-One settings!

SEO Page and Site Optimization with WordPress – Part One

January 21st, 2010

I had promised that I was going to provide you with some WordPress plugins I use for page and site optimization. Instead of having a huge list I thought I’d give a few of the 6-7 plugins that I use for SEO purposes each of the next few days or so. While most of these are no-brainers and will never have to worry about again, some will have to work in conjunction with a few minutes of extra time per post. I will explain each in detail. These plugins are for on-page and on-site SEO Optimization. Because the nature of SEO is always evolving, the use of these plugins sometimes go obsolete because they get incorporated into other plugins and sometimes into the WordPress base product itself. So feast your eyes on these first two:

MaxBlogPress Ping Optimizer The ability to PING is what makes blog software highly favorable to static sites. So what is the definition of the word PING?

Optimize WordPress use of Ping. Don't get banned.

What WordPress does is it PINGS or notifys various web servers/sites that you have published a new blog post. These PING sites then do a variety of things. Some add your blog to their directory. Some notify the search engines to come and index your new content. Some add and update blog directories. Basically pinging notifies sites that there is new content. By default, WordPress give you ONE site that does the pinging. That is http://rpc.pingomatic.com . To be honest this site then notifies several other sites, but I prefer a more comprehensive list. I use 147! Here’s the list. (Do a right click Save As)

So if your like me, right after you figure you’ve got your post completed and hit the Publish button, you go to look at what it looks like. Firstly you should be using preview to see what it looks like, but I know we still forget something, discover a mis-spelling, want to add boldness to a phrase, create space between a paragraph, you name it. So when you hit publish, you are pinging to the list. Then when you bold some text and click update, you are pinging your list. When you add an image and updating you are pinging your list. In fact every time you publish or update you are pinging. This tends to create several pings within a very short time. What can end up happening is the ping sites can BAN you for excessive pinging. Not if you install MaxBlogPress Ping Optimizer. With the plugin you can limit excessive pinging and control how many times you can ping in a given duration. I have mine set at 1 every 15 minutes is the maximum. You do have to register to get the plugin. You can find it here.

SEO Slugs
Wordpress has come a long way since it early versions with the use of permalinks and url structures. As great as using %postname% is, there is still something that you can do to even further optimize your urls. Enter SEO slugs. What does SEO slugs do? This plugin strips several of the common words like “what”, “you” or “can” out of your post slug to make it more search engine friendly. With SEO Slugs plugin activated, the slugs appear optimized for SEO. As an example, a post titled “What You Can Do Immediately For Higher Rankings” will become http://www.chriskilber.com/immediately-higher-rankings/. You still have the ability to override it by editing your url slug.

I’ll be back tomorrow with a few more.
Enjoy and have a remarkable day.
