Auto-Responders
Having auto-responder software is crucial if you want to capture names and email addresses of people who visit your blog, your capture pages, or sales pages. The software has come a long way and makes it very easy to setup capture forms, manage subscriptions and lists, and manage campaigns.
There are basically two players in this market; GetResponse and aWeber. No matter which you choose I would stick with one of the these two because of their track record of deliverability. This is not to say the other players in the auto-responder market won’t deliver, it’s just that I’ve never heard horror stories about these AND I currently use both of these two.
GetResponse

Goals of an Auto-Responder
Capture Your number one goal should be to get their name and eamail address so you can later provide them education, opportunities, and products. You can’t sell something to anyone if you don’t have this minimal information.
Build Value Tell them what they’ll receive by signing up. (You are providing something of value, right?) Let them know the value of what you are offering and how it will solve their problem or help them make a decision.
Update With an Auto-Responder you will be able to update subscribers with new items of interest, new product offerings, and anything you so choose to share.
aWeber

One thing you may want to consider is after you’ve chosen which auto-responder you want to go with is that you will more than likely want to stick with the same company. While not impossible, it does take a bit of planning to switch over from one to the other. The work isn’t because of the opt-in forms but the management of the subscribers. GetResponse is getting a new user interface in July and it may be worth waiting for. In any case, both of these companies have a one month trial period. To get to the sites of these companies just click here for aWeber or GetResponse.
Both sites have excellent customer service, even live online help, and tutorials, examples, blogs, and forums to answer just about any question you may have.
