Hey Chris, Great blog you have here with some amazingly valuable insights. Even though I'm out of Network Marketing "per say" I still need to spend some more time prospecting for my business. I completely and utterly agree that referrals have the best potential; at least that's what I believe, because you have a connection with the person your getting in touch with. I learned that at my first Fortune 500 sales "job" when I was about 18 or 19 years old. I'm OFF TO SPRINT!!! Thanks for the tips buddy! - God's Blessings - Curt from "The Daily Crushers"

From my own experience I can tell you that it takes a long time to penetrate a market based on personal branding. Branding is great but don't expect mirracles to happen just because you are personally branded,

Man, we have a lot in common. Like blue, pizza, cartoons (I like Felix the Cat as well), music (although I prefer vocals), underdogs. I take a pass on flying though. I think I'll start working on my list of stuff about me as well. Good post Chris.

Thank you May. You are correct. One thing I've always kept in perspective is that these people may end up in your business. From a one off purchase it is not as critical as let's say a network marketing business. I do not let just anyone into my business. They are people that I has common goals and values with and I would be able to potentially invite into my home. I also look for people who are motivated and I won't have to invest an inordinate amount of time with. People have to earn my trust before I invite them.

I agree with the point that it's the emotions that drive people to act. Human beings generally can be goaded into doing something, or in this case buying something if their emotions are stirred. So if a marketer can successfully affect the emotions of people, they will easily convert into his clients. But of course, the challenge is to affect the emotions in the right and positive way, and not to turn these prospective clients away.
