About Me
First I want to thank you for visiting my site. I’ve lived in the upper midwest (North Dakota, Minnesota, and now Wisconsin) for all my life. I have lived in Hudson Wisconsin (Wisconsin’s most western town on the border of Minnesota and Wisconsin) for the last 7 years. I am an avid outdoorsman as you can see in my photo on the right, like boating, fishing, hunting, and just being outdoors. I am a lucky man because my wife does as well. I also like to do international travel and have been to places you’ve probably never thought about going to. I enjoy sports, like golf and watching amateur sports. Gardening also has become a passion because I also like to grow tomatoes and one up the wife you know what I mean. Between the two of us most of our tomato plants easily grow as high as 6 feet or more.
I’ve been an entrepreneur of some type most of my life going back to when I had my own lawn mowing business in junior high. They say an entrepreneur is a person who has possession over a company, enterprise, or venture, and assumes significant accountability for the inherent risks and the outcome. This is true. I have also heard that most people will choose unhappiness over uncertainty, so most never even try something with even a little bit of risk. They are trading their freedom supposedly for security. Now many people including most of you, are finding that the old promise of getting a good education, a good job with a good company, and saving for retirement will make you successful and wealthy, just isn’t true anymore. As we are finding out, there are no businesses too large to fail and the average number of companies someone has to work for now number around seven or eight during their lifetime working career. To me freedom is the ability to do what you want when you want to do it. This is really hard when your stuck at a job for for over 2000 hours a year.
I have a background as a systems engineer and have worked on systems for banks, insurance companies, and other financial institutions. Now don’t get me wrong there are some things that are rewarding in that profession. Unfortunately, there’s also a ton of bureaucracy in those old institutions and we really are just trading time for dollars. Well my home based businesses are giving me an opportunity to reach outside of my comfort zone, provide me new challenges, chances to work with success orientated people, and giving me much more satisfaction of accomplishment than any 9-5 corporate job ever could. It’s also nice to be paid for your efforts, not your time.
In some of my recent business endeavors I have been doing business coaching, marketing, and teaching leadership. My primary business has allowed me to use all of these three skills to their maximum potential. I of course have aspirations of trimming my hours down to 20 or so a week, but the one passion that drives me is working with people, showing them how to do something, encouraging them, and watching them grow in there personal and business lives. They say that the definition of a successful leader is not how high they attain their own goals, but how high they lift the others around them to help them attain theirs. If I want to reach the goals I have set for myself, it will of course have to involve lifting those with whom I expand my business with. Take a look around the website and if you feel you would like to discuss any potential ideas or goals with me, or have any questions, it would be my pleasure. to talk with you.
I’ll see you at the finish line.
Have a remarkable day!
Chris
